California Contractor

A contractor by definition is an individual or organization that contracts with another individual or organization for the construction of a building.  To be a contractor in the State of California the individual must be at least 18 years of age and must possess the experience and skills necessary to manage the daily activities of a construction business.  To qualify for the state exam, the applicant must have had at least four full years of experience as a journeyman, foreman, supervisor, or contractor in the classification for which he or she is applying.
